Mechanical line leak detectors are pressure sensing devices that detect leaks as small as .3 gallons per hour. Once tripped, the leak detector dramatically reduces the flow rate to 1.5-3 gallons per minute. The leak detector will allow full flow only after full pump pressure has been restored. The reduced flows will alert you that something is wrong with the dispensing system and that immediate attention to the problem is necessary.
